SUMMARY The Paint I will prepare the truck for paint by sanding,
grinding, waxing, greasing, and applying body filler. They must
inspect the truck for flaws, dents, or imperfections and compare it
to the spec book to ensure standards are met. They will be expected
to maintain the condition and quality of your tools. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS All employees are required to support Rosenbauer’s
Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties
of this position and do not include marginal functions that are
incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope
and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered
based on the business needs of Rosenbauer. Be efficient in
tools/equipment to sand, grind, and apply body filler to the
apparatus to prepare for paint. Masks off parts of the raw truck
body and completes final preparations for it to be painted.
Compares to spec book and follows along with guidelines to best
prepare the body. Wipes down the exterior of the fire truck with
wax and grease to make the product more visually appealing.
Inspects for flaws, dents, or imperfections on the truck’s body.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by
management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
Tools to be utilized: Hand tools, power tools, grinders, air
buffer/sander, and air blowers. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
(KSA’s): The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform
the essential functions of the job. Knowledge, Education, and/or
Experience: High school diploma/GED. Strong mechanical and
technical ability required. Associate degree in autobody preferred.
2 years of experience in autobody preferred. Manufacturing
experience preferred. Skills: Language: Able to follow written and
verbal directions. Math: Able to add, subtract, multiply, and
divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and
decimals. Computer: Able to perform simple computer tasks to obtain
information/changes related to the build process and/or
troubleshoot. Abilities: Able to identify quality issues, recognize
changes within the production process, and adjust as needed. Able
to prioritize work and to multitask while adhering to deadlines.
Able to work with minimal supervision in a team environment. Able
to understand and follow all safety policies to promote a safe
working environment for all. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Driving- license
Driving- Own Vehicle Hours of work- Ability to work evenings and/or
weekends occasionally x Overtime as needed to meet the needs of the
department. Travel- Local Travel- Overnight Travel- Prolonged
