Administrative AssistantDepartment: Destination Sales, Minneapolis
Convention Center (MCC)Reports to: Associate Director of Sales &
Marketing, Minneapolis Convention Center Status: Full-time;
Salaried, Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of the MCC
Associate Director of Sales, the MCC Director of Sales & Marketing
and the SVP of Destination Sales, the Sales Administrative
Assistant supports the promotion and sales of the Minneapolis
Convention Center and the City of Minneapolis as a premier
destination for meetings and events, while assisting in the
achievement of room night and revenue goals that positively impact
the MCC, local hotels, and the community.ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES:Support and assist the Director of Sales &
Marketing, Associate Director of Sales, National Account Executives
(NAEs) and/or Sales Account Executives (SAEs). Maintain and
distribute Permit for Occupancy (PFO) Status ReportsManage traces
for events in MomentusGenerate reports and communications using
existing database(s)Prepare and distribute sales collateral for
sales personnel Complete special projects for sales personnelAssist
MCC Sales team with attracting and retaining events to the
Minneapolis Convention CenterAchieve annual goals as
assignedEstablish effective working relationships with meeting
planners, hotel sales personnel, and Meet Minneapolis
PartnersManage interactions with walk-in clients and/or phone calls
from prospective clientsCreate accurate SWAY proposals & power
point presentations for Site InspectionsAssist in the coordination
of MCC site inspections Participate in sales and local industry
meetings, document client communication in MomentusAssist Marketing
Manager and assist in identifying marketing opportunitiesSupport
MCC Event Activities such as closing work orders and internal
blocking of meeting space.Prepare accurate contracts based on
client needs, modifying as needed Efficiently manage and assign
accounts/events currently unassigned to a sales leader.Coordinate
all aspects of bid proposals using various Microsoft
productsSupport attainment of the Meet Minneapolis Performance
Goals as defined in its contract with the City of Minneapolis. All
other duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Two years' experience
in administrative/sales support or inside sales
roleTourism/Hospitality experience preferredAssociate degree
preferred (not required)SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:Ability to
multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment with frequent interruptions. Ability to travel
occasionally for sales activities.Ability to occasionally work
evenings, weekends and holidays.Ability to use general office
equipment, computers, and standard and specialized software
packages, such as Adobe Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
and Sway.Strong communication, writing, and proofreading
skills.Familiarity with various forms of social media platforms and
their usesAbility to creatively solve problems in a competitive
environment.Ability to evaluate quality of business opportunities
and identify those best-suited for the facility and
community.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job,

(hybrid - 60% in office, 40% remote)Attend offsite meetings and

business hoursSALARY$40,000 - $50,000 base salary plus sales
